How to choose a batting size: if you are sending your quilt top to a longarm quilter, you should allow an extra 3"-4" on each side for their machine. If you'll be quilting it on your home machine, you only need an inch or two on each side. So for a longarm quilter, choose twin if your quilt top is 66" x 84" or smaller; choose full if your quilt is 84" x 90" or smaller. These measurements allow at least 3" on all sides. If your longarm quilter requires 4" on each side, adjust accordingly: choose twin if your quilt top is 64" x 82" or smaller; choose full if your quilt top is 82" x 88" or smaller.
