I loved the look of this pattern, and I always prefer completely precut kits for the ease of getting right into sewing the top. However, I do think the “order of assembly” instructions made this project a lot more unpleasant than it needed to be.
The suggested instruction has you assembling 8.5”blocks, then joining those into rows with long sashing strips between. The sashing strips have cornerstones to align with the blocks. That might work fine—- If you are an absolute rockstar with exact 1/4” seams, straight stitches, and perfect pressing. Otherwise, getting all those cornerstones aligned correctly on long rows is a real pain.
I ended up seam-ripping, and reassembling in an alternate fashion: I made larger blocks with their sashing/cornerstones pre-attached, then assembled into 4-block groups, then joined those fully into the quilt top. Doing it this way meant I was able to much more easily “correct” minor issues with cornerstones not perfectly lining up. And it also allowed for block trimming if needed.
The fabric in person looks a little more “denim” than it does on the website (in my photo notice the medium blue). But the quilt has a simple but lovely look that I think works well.

I’ve just started it this week. I love the pattern. I am very disappointed that the colors are all the distressed, “grunge look”. It isn’t a look that I would ever use in a quilt I make. I don’t know if I missed something in the description. It makes me very hesitant to purchase more kits.
